Gateway Organization Milwaukee provides the following offerings as part of its Band and Orchestra program:

• Students receive 30 weekly private lessons and 30 weekly group classes throughout the school year.

• Students participate in a combined-school concert each school year.

• Students participate in a solo festival where they perform for a professional adjudicator and receive feedback on their playing.

• When appropriate, students perform at school functions, including holiday programs, spring concerts, parent nights, etc.

Gateway Organization Milwaukee ensures accessibility to our programs in multiple ways:

• Lessons take place during the school day, eliminating the need for families to arrange extra transportation and allowing students the free time to participate in other after-school and weekend activities. Group classes take place either immediately before or immediately after school.

• Partial tuition scholarships are available to every family who is eligible for Free and Reduced Meals as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Since the 2019-2020 school year Gateway Organization Milwaukee has provided substantial tuition scholarships to every family who requested one. In a typical year betwen 40-70% of our students receive tuition scholarships.

• Scholarship instruments are available to every student who requests one.

• Payment plans are available to every family.

The Gateway Organization Milwaukee Band and Orchestra programs are strong in their geographic breadth. Students from all over the metro-Milwaukee area participate in the programs at their individual schools. They might put on school athletic uniforms and play against each other in basketball, track, and soccer, but once a year they put on concert uniforms and make music together.
